Inspections

Foothills Chimney Sweep treats every home as if it were our own. We always complete a thorough inspection of every chimney to check for damage before any work is done. This is to ensure the safety of your chimney, your home, and our workers, as well as any animals which may have decided to take up residence in your chimney in the off season. We will look for any areas which may need grouting or minor repairs within our realm of expertise, figure out exactly what tools we are going to need for the job, measurements for caps or other pieces, & if we need to remove any animals . Once we know what we are dealing with, we will let you know as well and generate a quote based off of this detailed information.

Cleaning & Sweeping

Time for a fresh start! Everyone could use a clean sweep sometimes, and that goes for your chimney as well! Having a fire with build up and soot, debris or even bird nests in your chimney could end in disaster. Over time, build up of creosote & cracks in a chimney becomes dangerous, and can cause fires to be unsafe. No one wants to accidentally catch the house on fire, let us make sure everything is clear and safe before the cold comes and you decide to snuggle up by the fire with your family. It is also important to clean the chimney and make sure any cracks or damage is re-grouted and repaired to prevent leaks and water damage to your home. We will handle your chimney with the utmost care, as we know how important it is for your safety.

Chimney Caps

Who doesn’t love a fresh cap? Everyone needs to have a proper cap on the chimney of their home to ensure the elements, & animals do not destroy your home. Foothills Chimney Sweep will make sure you have a properly fitted and sealed cap so there are no leaks during rain and snow. The cap also serves an important purpose by keeping squirrles, birds, snakes, and any other critters from making your chimney their home again between fire seasons. These caps also serve an important purpose by keeping sparks and embers in and from potentially blowing away and causing dangerous fires which could ruin a home, your property, or the property of a neighbor in a matter of minutes. When it comes to having a safe and solid fire, a proper cap is key!

Humane Animal Removal

We’ve all had it happen, you go to start a fire and hear the dreaded “tweet tweet” of a family of baby birds that decided they like your home as much as you do & moved into your chimney during warm weather. Now there is a nest of baby birds, chirping away and not only that, the nest itself can be a fire hazard, especially if your chimney has not been checked for cracks or damage in a while or does not have a proper cap. (Which is usually the case if birds have found their way inside.) So now what do you do? Call Foothills Chimney Sweep of course! Not only will we ensure we humanely remove the birds with the use of a net and set them free, we will clean out the residual debris and check for any issues the critters may have caused while playing Santa Claus during the summer! Once the animals have been safely relocated, we will properly sweep and clean things out where they had been nesting. Also we will measure and provide a proper cap for your chimney to ensure this does not happen again!
